JSA Healthcare: Age Well Magazine

Situation: JSA Healthcare was frustrated by their design agencies inability to produce Age Well Magazine effectively. The JSA staff was having problems with the quality of the writing for articles and meeting timelines on a consistent basis for production.

Process: Karr met with the magazine production staff at JSA Healthcare to discuss all aspects towards the Production of JSA Age Well magazine. Karr hired Diane Sterret, professional healthcare copywriter, to conduct doctor interviews and write all the articles for the fall issue. The Karr production team implemented time lines for the project, to be adhered to by the client and production staff.

Solution: Lead designer Joe Leonardo was given creative license to bring a new look to the magazine. Karr produced a new look Age Well Magazine with articles that were interesting , well written, and well received by its’ audience.

 
Ray's Bagels

Situation: Ray Leonard of Ray’s New York Famous bagels approached a major national grocery chain about stocking their new bagel products. Ray introduced the new “Bagel Bop”. The buyer was quick to point out the poor package design of the product, although he thought product itself was viable. Ray was told to bring the packaging up to their chain’s standards. In the meantime, Ray’s had 2 weeks to prepare for a meeting with a regional grocer.

Process: Ray contacted Howard Karass at Karr for immediate help. Howard’s team at Karr took swift action and renamed the “Bop” to a  “Bagel Nibler.” Ray, excited about the new name, proceeded to have KarrPD redesign the packaging for the “ Bagel Nibler “& “Bialy  Sliders.”

Solution: New design, copy, & illustration concepts were proposed for Ray to approve. Our lead designer, Tom Neveu, created  new packaging for Bagel Nibler & Bialy slider. They were an overwhelming success with frozen food buyers. Karr continues to be the agency of record for Ray’s New York Bagels.

Additionally, Karr spearheaded and created the new logo that can be seen on all his new packaging. It is also being integrated into Ray’s new product line, which includes the new Asiago Cheese Bagel and Cinnabagel.

Apparent Networks Case Study

Situation: Apparent was challenged to integrate their Canadian home office based in Vancouver, British Columbia with Their new international home office in Wellesley Hills, Ma. They needed to consolidate the two offices, all of its marketing collateral & website and still maintain Vancouver as a satellite office.

Process: Karr’s team, together with Apparents’ marketing group reviewed all of their current & past marketing material. A new logo was created & Karr was chosen to develop the  new website  & marketing collateral to support it.

Solution: Karr’s Lead web developer Tom Neveu implemented a new user friendly website which incorporated Apparents’ newest technology, Pathview Software. With the new website in place.  Tom designed New Pathview collateral to support web. Karr currently maintains a contract with Apparent for maintenance of their site.

 
Heritage at Falmouth: Lifestyles brochure

Situation: Heritage of Falmouth, a premier retirement home had all kinds of marketing material, but none of it accurately reflected the kind of “community environment, the facility and staff have created. They found themselves in the midst of a crowded field of retirement homes in a region with a wealthy, aging demographic.

Process: Heritage needed to differentiate itself from the other retirement homes by articulating a unique and luxurious way of living. Residents” need for privacy had to considered, while still promoting the social and service elements of the facility.

Solution: Lead designer, Pat Iamele was able to identify some key characteristics that gave them valuable insights and helped them define the unique lifestyles at Heritage at Falmouth. Lifestyles a high end brochure was created to accurately reflect the lifestyle of its; residents. The brochure accentuated the warm atmosphere, elegant architecture and landscape which evokes a resort like feel.
